We’re seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer to join our GitLab’s Platform Team, a strategic powerhouse driving the technical foundation that empowers our entire engineering organization. To be successful as a Senior Software Engineer, you should have:

• Experience designing and implementing distributed systems with microservices architecture and applying software design patterns (SOLID principles, Factory, Observer, Strategy, etc.)
• Proficiency in Java development (Golang and C# would also be considered)
• Advanced knowledge of AWS and other public cloud platforms (RDS, S3, EC2, ECS)

Additional skills include:

• Experience in designing systems that are highly available and scalable
• Proficiency in CI/CD pipeline design, implementation, and optimization
• Other scripting languages (Python, Bash, Ruby)

• Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
• Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
