The Grant Manager serves as a staff member at will of Domestic Violence Intervention Services (DVIS). The Grant Manager will oversee the full lifecycle of grant funding, including identifying funding opportunities, preparing proposals, managing awarded funds, ensuring compliance, and completing all reporting requirements. This role works closely with program teams, finance team, CEO, and the development department to support the organization’s strategic initiatives and sustainability. Ø Priority 2: Grant management and Applications · Responsible for maintaining timelines of deadlines for proposals and reports · Responsible for researching grant-making organizations and analyzing them to identify likely funding sources for specific projects and programs. · Responsible for compiling, writing, and editing grant applications exhibiting strong expository writing skills and a high-level command of grammar and spelling. · Responsible for developing individual grant proposals in accordance with the grantor’s preferences and guidelines. · Responsible for drafting letters of support for other agencies with which DVIS collaborates and drafting letters of support to legislators, judges and others regarding legislation or public policies on behalf of domestic violence victims. · Responsible for working with and training employees on grant reporting needs. · Responsible for working with the Chief Development Officer and Chief Financial Officer to match budget requirements to funding opportunities and to ensure financial compliance. · Responsible for working with the Chief Development Officer and staff to match program suggestions and goals with grant opportunities. Convert ideas into workable funding opportunities. Ø Priority 3 – Oversee Administration of all grants received by DVIS from federal, state, local and private sources to ensure regulatory compliance by: · Maintaining contact with grant-making organizations during their review of a submitted grant application and supplying additional supportive material as requested by the supervisor. · Monitoring existing grants and if applicable, submitting renewal or extension applications. · Supplying progress reports when required by a grant-making organization for funded a project(s) or program(s). · Creating and maintaining archive files of grant research, grant applications (including refusals), and administration and distribution of approved grants. · Maintaining positive contact and coordinating with DVIS departments, DVIS clients, and program partners; · Maintaining positive contact with federal, state, local, and private funding sources in regard to grant regulations, funding availability, research, and training. · Assuring that DVIS complies with all grant regulations; · Conducting interagency and interdepartmental grant oversight committee meetings; · Preparing grant status reports, grant calendar, and other evaluation documents to monitor grant progress and accomplishments. · Responsible for software tracking, setting and meeting deadlines, and daily communication with Chief Development Officer. · Attending and participating in community collaborations leading to the development of funding and program resources for DVIS. Ø Priority 4 – Other Grant-Related Activities · Responsible for creating and maintaining “program needs” list of current and proposed agency programs that require funding. Research and pursue funding opportunities for these programs. · Responsible for drafting letters of support for other agencies with which DVIS collaborates and drafting letters of support to legislators, judges, and others regarding legislation or public policies on behalf of domestic violence victims. · Responsible for working with and training employees on grant reporting needs. · Responsible for working with the Chief Financial Officer to match budget requirements to funding opportunities and to ensure financial compliance. · Develop and implement grant acquisition strategies - both initial application and renewal. Requirements Education: Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in English or a related discipline. Experience: Requires a minimum of three years experience in administering both private and federal grants; experience working with a nonprofit is strongly preferred, or two to four years of related experience and/or training in a field requiring advanced writing skills and one-year experience in research and preparation of grant applications or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Proven computer skills including computer utilization, Instrumentl Grant Management platform, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Suite, including spreadsheets, and graphic applications are required. Requires the ability to work individually or in a team setting, excellent written communication skills, advanced skills in writing, and advanced research skills - both traditional and internet, excellent time management and organizational skills. flexibility and ability to work under continual deadlines. Knowledge of or experience working with social justice issues, specifically intimate partner, and gender-based domestic and sexual violence, and racial, class, gender, sexual orientation issues, and intervention/prevention services strongly preferred.
