KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum four (4) years’ experience in multi-state, large volume payroll accounting, account reconciliations, tax preparation and compliance.
• Experience with HRIS/ HCM systems
• Background in Payroll and/ or Accounting
• FCP or CPP Certification highly preferred
• Extensive knowledge of federal & state laws related to payroll and tax compliance
• Coaching, organization, and customer service skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

• Research and gather required documents to set up required tax accounts in new states where companies operate.
• Research payroll tax payments and data discrepancies with federal, state, and local agencies, and work with tax agencies as well as internal staff for resolution.
• Work with HRIS to ensure that the company follows federal, state, and local legal requirements, establishing state tax, unemployment tax and local city/territory accounts, as necessary. Responsible for monitoring, auditing, and completing tax filings, as necessary.
• Oversight of Year End W2 and Annual Reporting requirements including processing corrections and employee questions.
• Quarterly tax filings and payment review to ensure compliance.
• Review of 401k deferrals and payments in compliance.
• Review of all payroll-related deductions and payments in compliance.
• Audit and remit unclaimed funds.
• Manager all GL mapping, corrections, and reconciliations for all Balance Sheets and Income Statement accounts. Implement preventative/ supportive measures as needed.
• Prepare and post payroll and payroll related journal entries in accordance with financial statement timelines
• Liaison with Accounting teams (GL and Cash Management).
• Support Accounting and Benefits for annual and ad hoc audits.
• Support period end reconciliations of payroll accruals and cash accounts in accordance with financial statement timelines.
