Your Opportunity:
This is an exciting opportunity within the Edmonton Zone Allied Health, Pediatric Community Rehabilitation (PCR) Team. Reporting to the Manager, the Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) Team Lead works primarily onsite to: Support staff to provide high quality, evidence-informed practice aligning with AHS/PCR vision, values, policies and guidelines. Model and encourage approaches that mobilize and sustain effective teamwork and collaborative practice, engaging to address and resolve conflict. Mentor and support skill development to facilitate effective clinical service delivery. Provide focused support to PCR therapy assistants, including orientation, supervision, training and education, TACCP, role optimization. Maintain a component of clinical service provision and consult on complex care scenarios. Work with staff to implement supported practices and participate in zone/provincial initiatives. Coordinate day-to-day planning, development, delivery, and evaluation of services - including but not limited to orientation, waitlist management, workload/utilization, system training, resource management and student placements. Advise the manager in operational decision-making and assist in responding to trends, issues and opportunities to meet population need. Coordinate professional development and provide input regarding staff performance. Work with the PCR Managers and other Team Leaders to: Identify opportunities for improving clinical and program processes/practices. Implement and evaluate quality improvement and program development initiatives and support knowledge translation. Develop and maintain strong partnerships with internal/external stakeholders and service partners.
Description:
As a Speech Language Pathologist Team Lead, you will be responsible to work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team where you will be an integral leader to other healthcare professionals (Speech-Language Pathologists and Assistants). You will facilitate the development and ongoing monitoring of clinical standards of practice for speech-language pathology and patient (clients/residents) care protocols in the department and geographical area. In collaboration with management, you will support the development, implementation and evaluate the department’s operational plan strategies.
