Job Title: Director of Nursing (DON) – Skilled Nursing Facility
Location: Phoenix, Arizona
Employment Type: Full-Time
Reports To: Administrator

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing department in delivering exceptional care to our residents. Diamondback is a 94-bed facility that serves to patients in need of respiratory, dialysis, therapy care. The DON will oversee all aspects of nursing operations, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while fostering a culture of excellence, teamwork, and resident-centered care.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona..
Minimum 5 years of clinical experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role in long-term care or skilled nursing.
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations, including infection control and quality assurance.
Experience in high acuity and skilled nursing.
Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
Passion for serving patients in high acuity SNF and improving quality of care.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing or related field.
Experience with MDS, care planning, and survey preparedness.

Responsibilities

Provide leadership and supervision to the nursing team, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs.
Develop, implement, and maintain nursing policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory standards.
Ensure delivery of high-quality, person-centered care that meets resident needs and expectations.
Recruit, hire, train, and retain nursing staff; manage performance and conduct evaluations.
Monitor clinical systems, quality measures, and infection control programs for compliance and improvement opportunities.
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to optimize care plans and outcomes.
Oversee staffing schedules, manage budgets, and maintain adequate resources for care delivery.
Serve as a liaison between residents, families, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
Participate in surveys and audits; lead the team in achieving and maintaining regulatory compliance.
Promote a positive, professional, and supportive work environment.
