The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine invites applications for a Laboratory and Digital Resource Technician. This Full-time Fixed Term position is for approximately 24 months (based on length of grant funding), with the possibility of extension.
The Laboratory and Teaching Resource Technician is a member of the UCVM Research Office Team who reports to the Manager, Discipline Teaching Technicians and receives direction from course coordinators and faculty members. This position is responsible for: 1) Supporting several undergraduate (DVM) and graduate courses and rotations across all years of the veterinary curriculum, with the potential for work at both the Foothills and Spy Hill Campuses and for occasional trips off campus; 2) Creating digital learning material for DVM courses, graduate teaching, and training of the UCVM research community; 3) Supporting the UCVM research community, providing technical training on various laboratory techniques, overseeing the maintenance of and training on shared research equipment, and acting as a subject-matter expert on U of C resources, policies, and procedures relating to laboratory operations; 4) When time permits, assisting with projects related to UCVM operations.
