WHAT YOU WILL GET IN RETURN:
The University of Manchester has been awarded an EPSRC Place-Based Impact Acceleration Account grant to create a North-West Industrial Biotechnology Innovation Catalyst (IBIC). Industrial biotechnology may provide a solution to replace society’s reliance on fossil fuels, offering sustainable ways to biomanufacture everyday products such as medicines, chemicals and food. The strategic aim of IBIC is to leverage our science, research, innovation and teaching asset base to build a large-scale cluster of high-value activity to drive regional growth and create a more productive, more R&D-intensive community that benefits business and residents across the NW region and helps deliver a low carbon economy. The programme is led by The University of Manchester in partnership with Manchester Metropolitan, Salford and Liverpool and Liverpool John Moores universities, as well as a breadth of interconnected anchor partners that span businesses (SMEs to corporates), commercial organisations, accelerators, civic partners and investors across the north-west region.
The Industrial Biotechnology Innovation Catalyst (IBIC) is now seeking to recruit a Project Coordinator to work closely with the Programme Director and Programme Manager to provide responsive and efficient operational and administrative support for IBIC activities.
The post will be based in the Department of Chemical Engineering & Analytical Science.
The IBIC Project Coordinator will ensure that the project leadership team and members of the centre receive support in the delivery of strategic tasks. They will be the primary point of contact on a wide range of administrative aspects and will coordinate activity across a number of project areas, including project meetings, review meetings, procurement and resource monitoring, organising engagement events and workshops, internal and external communications and dissemination activities. This role would be ideal for someone with exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail and will provide the ideal environment to apply those attributes to the success of this fast-paced programme. You would ideally bring excellent communication skills, and initiative to ensure project events and activities run smoothly. You will need to work well in a small, agile team, be flexible and have experience using and managing IT systems (data systems, web-based tools, creative tools).
