ROLE IMPACT A Grade 1 Occupational Therapist at SVPHM will have the clinical knowledge and undergraduate experience to enable them to provide evidence based, effective patient care with the support and supervision of the senior physiotherapy team. A Grade 1 Occupational Therapist will be expected to work collaboratively with other members of the multidisciplinary team. They may be responsible for the supervision of an Allied Health Assistant. A Grade 2 Occupational Therapist at SVPHM will have a broad experience base within the hospital setting, while demonstrating an emerging interest in a specialty clinical area. This skill base will allow a Grade 2 Occupational Therapist to work independently and competently across the full spectrum of acute and rehabilitation services, providing clinical support and supervision to junior staff and students as required. They will have a commitment to developing their skills and knowledge in the specialty area relevant to their role, through attaining clinical experience and participating in quality improvement and professional development activities. A Grade 2 Occupational Therapist will demonstrate emerging leadership skills. This may include collaborating with and supporting senior staff and management with continual service improvement, and supervision and mentoring of junior staff and students.
