We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee financial operations and reporting for our organization in Rutherford, California. This role requires someone with a strong attention to detail who can lead accounting processes while providing strategic insights to support business decisions. The ideal candidate will bring proven leadership skills and a strong background in financial management.

• Oversee and ensure timely completion of monthly and quarterly financial close processes.
• Manage the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and departmental expense summaries.
• Provide leadership and guidance to accounting staff, fostering their development and ensuring high-quality execution of tasks.
• Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger postings for accuracy and consistency.
• Analyze inventory costing for discrepancies and report notable trends or variances to management.
• Collaborate on the development of annual budgets, including farming activity budgets, and provide detailed analysis.
• Assist with tax-related tasks, including income analysis, shareholder distributions, and coordination for tax returns.
• Support external audits and ensure accurate data for annual tax filings.
• Partner with the Controller and other business leaders to deliver timely financial data and analysis for informed decision-making.
• Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure proper coding and documentation approvals.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a management role.
• Comprehensive understanding of U.S. GAAP and its application in financial reporting.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to engage effectively across organizational levels.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities with a focus on achieving results.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with financial systems; ERP experience preferred.
• Experience in the wine industry or public accounting is highly desirable.
• Ability to adapt to varying work environments while maintaining focus and motivation.
