About the Role The Medical Assistant provides both clinical and administrative support to the care team. What You’ll Do Key responsibilities include: Greet and assist patients in a professional, respectful, and culturally responsive manner. Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining vital signs, medical histories, and current medications. Ensure accurate patient demographic and clinical information is documented. Assist with patient intake and discharge processes. Support providers during examinations and procedures. Administer medications and immunizations as directed by a provider and within scope of practice. Perform phlebotomy and collect laboratory specimens. Conduct basic laboratory tests as appropriate. Explain treatment instructions, medications, and care plans to patients as directed by the provider. Accurately document patient information, test results, and care activities in the electronic health record. Support coding and documentation processes for billing and insurance purposes. Clean, disinfect, and prepare exam rooms and equipment between patients. Maintain organized, safe, and stocked clinical workspaces. Support patient flow to ensure timely and efficient care delivery. Communicate patient concerns, needs, or changes in condition to appropriate staff. Participate in team huddles and daily clinic operations.
