Description

We are currently looking for a proactive, self-starter to join our firm as a Staff Accountant on a full-time basis.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND SKILLS

  • University degree
  • Working towards the CPA designation or have CPA/CA/CGA/CMA
  • Completion of CFE would be an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Dedication and strong work ethic;
  • Demonstrated strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail;
  • Requires little supervision on routine tasks;
  • Able to prioritize multiple assignments simultaneously.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least two year experience in public accounting firm
  • Must have thorough understanding of GAAP an GAAS
  • Understanding of Canadian corporate and personal tax
  • Work under minimum supervision

REQUIRED COMPUTER/SOFTWARE SKILLS:

  • CaseWare and CaseView (working knowledge)

Responsibilities
  • To prepare financial statements including all the required notes and year end letters (i.e., enclosure letter, legal information letter and engagement letter);
  • To complete compilations (NTR), reviews and small audits (beginning to end);
  • To prepare corporate and personal tax returns;
  • Respond to CRA inquiries
  • Various other duties as necessary
