Primary Responsibilities /Accountabilities/ Essential Functions:

• Responsible for daily staff supervision for Housekeeping, Laundry, Public Areas, and Guest Reception operations, for both the GCU Hotel and the Discover Dorm-Cypress Hall.
• Supervise daily cleaning of guestrooms, public areas and laundry areas in multiple locations ensuring all staff meet quality standards.
• Assigns housekeeping room attendants for multiple locations daily, to ensure guest rooms are prepared to meet early check-in requests and all rooms are cleaned by an agreed upon arrival time to provide guest satisfaction.
• Develop and implement guest service initiatives and standards to enhance the overall guest experience, including personalized services and special touches that exceed guest expectations.
• Evaluate and implement technology solutions to streamline operations, enhance guest services, and improve efficiency in guest communication and housekeeping management.
• Works closely with Front Desk in keeping room status reports up to date through notification of all check outs, late check outs, early check ins, new reservations, room moves, special requests, stay overs and room availability.
• Obtains vacancy, arrivals, departure, and special requests forms from Guest Reception and assign to staff as needed.
• Conducts daily checks of rooms to ensure all housekeeping attendants are meeting cleanliness and timing standards.
• Checks for items that are not operable and/or in need of repair and reports such items to Hotel Operations Manager.
• Address and correct maintenance issues, shortages in staff or equipment, renovations, etc.
• Ensures all department work scheduling meets adequate staffing levels.
• Follows operational and shift change procedures and tasks.
• Follows lost and found procedures ensuring all items are labelled and logged correctly.
• Greets guests, responds effectively to guest concerns and requests. Follows up to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Provides input to management regarding room attendants to handle any employee performance issues.
• Complete monthly linen and supply inventory when requested.
• Assists in laundry and housekeeping as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Equipment Used and Responsibility

• Ability to learn and follow all safety, emergency, and accident prevention procedures.
• Able to use fire extinguishers and any other emergency equipment needed to ensure personal and guest safety

Supervisory Responsibilities
Leadership and supervision of both the GCU Hotel and Discover Dorm-Cypress Hall Housekeeping, Laundry, Public Areas, and Guest Reception staff, which includes full time, part time and student worker employees in all areas of the operation. Ensuring adequate staffing and all areas meet cleanliness and timing standards. Informs management of any employee issues and recommends appropriate action.

Experience / Education

• Must be able to have flexible schedule, which includes nights, weekends and holidays if needed.
• Must have work authorization documents for United States
• Must be fluent in English, ability to read and write.
• High school diploma
• Minimum two years’ experience in customer service or hospitality industry.
• Prefer experience in serving as a supervisor or manager on a team.
• Must successfully pass background checks.
