We are looking for a full-time Cost Engineer within our customer service department.
First Shift: Monday - Thursday 6:25 am-4:30 pm.

JOB SUMMARY:

Accurately cost all print types and finishing functions, knowledge of materials, blueprints, tooling, stock-cutting, press capabilities, cost basic-complex job with little to no supervision, works independently, provides outside of the box solutions while utilizing all Empire standards and capabilities.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

• Strong interpersonal and telephone skills
• Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize multiple tasks
• Ability to deal with customers as well as all departments to access and analyze situations
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Self-motivated and ability to excel with minimum supervision
• PC skills with proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong comprehension of business math
• Must be detailed-oriented, highly organized, ambitious, creative and able to “think outside the box”
• High School diploma or equivalent required

• Read and understand bid sheets and blue prints
• Check for revision levels and blueprints to make sure they match
• Re-combo repeats
• Know when to step up or step-down jobs to get the best price
• Know when to run house blankets
• Estimating freight charges (UPS, TRUCK, and ETC.)
• Need to know how to prioritize purchase orders and quotes to keep things flowing
• Know flexo, Screenprint and Digital costing methods
• Know all of Empires capabilities and standards
• Identify the best solution to complete the job efficiently and cost effectively
• Know raw materials
• All other duties as assigned
