JOB OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated ELV (Extra Low Voltage) Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of various extra low voltage systems within the organization. These systems may include CCTV, access control, fire alarm systems, public address systems, audio-visual systems, and other ELV systems.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• Educational Background:
• Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
• Certification in ELV systems is an added advantage.
• Experience:
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working with ELV systems such as CCTV, access control, fire alarms, etc.
• Hands-on experience in installation, configuration, and maintenance of ELV systems.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in the installation and troubleshooting of ELV systems.
• Understanding of network configurations (IP, routers, switches) and system integration.
• Familiarity with industry-standard ELV brands and equipment.
• Soft Skills:
• Strong attention to detail with problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment.
• Good communication skills and the ability to interact with clients and team members.
• Physical Requirements:
• Ability to work in varying physical environments, including climbing ladders and working in confined spaces.
• Ability to lift and carry equipment as needed.

• Installation & Commissioning:
• Install, configure, and test ELV systems such as CCTV, access control, fire alarm, and public address systems as per the project requirements.
• Ensure compliance with technical specifications, safety standards, and project timelines during installations.
• Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on ELV systems to ensure continuous operation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to ELV systems quickly and efficiently, minimizing downtime.
• System Configuration & Calibration:
• Set up and calibrate system settings for optimal performance, including configuring IP addresses, networking, and ensuring the proper functionality of devices.
• Documentation & Reporting:
• Prepare and maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and preventive maintenance schedules.
• Provide daily/weekly reports on system status, project progress, and maintenance activities to the supervisor/manager.
• Safety Compliance:
• Ensure that all ELV installations and maintenance activities comply with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
• Follow electrical safety practices and ensure the safety of oneself and the team during installations and maintenance.
• Team Collaboration:
• Work closely with other technicians, engineers, and project managers to complete projects on time and according to specifications.
• Assist in training junior technicians and provide guidance when necessary.
