Responsibilities   Lead and coordinate mechanical engineering activities related to the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of naval vessels, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. Develop maintenance schedules and oversee their execution to optimise vessel availability and longevity. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and project management to ensure seamless integration of maintenance activities. Monitor and report on progress, performance metrics, and potential risks associated with mechanical systems maintenance. Manage and mentor a team of engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and professional development. Engage with suppliers and contractors to source quality materials, equipment, and services aligned with the company’s standards and strategic objectives. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies throughout all maintenance operations. Contribute to process improvements by recommending and implementing best practices in mechanical maintenance procedures and resource management.   Requirements   Degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant field. Prior experience in mechanical maintenance or engineering within the naval or maritime sector is highly advantageous. Strong leadership skills, with experience in managing teams and projects effectively. Excellent problem-solving capabilities and the ability to work under pressure, adapting quickly to changing priorities. Sound understanding of mechanical systems in vessels, including propulsion, hydraulics, and auxiliary machinery.
