Opportunity Overview: A fantastic opportunity has risen to temporarily join my client as a Tax Consultant.
My client is a leading global financial services firm providing a wide range of investment banking, securities, investment management and wealth management services. The Firm’s employees serve clients worldwide including corporations, governments, and individuals from more than 1,200 offices in 43 countries
Role Objective: This is an excellent opportunity to join the EMEA tax department of a prestigious multi-national bank. The EMEA Tax Department is responsible for Corporate Tax, Indirect Tax, Business Unit Tax Advisory, US Tax Reporting and Global Tax Risk with offices in London, Glasgow, Frankfurt and Budapest. Members work closely across the EMEA region and with the NY and Asia offices. Also with wider Finance, Treasury and Legal Departments.
EMEA Tax is responsible for Corporate Tax Compliance, Indirect Tax, Tax Advisory, US Tax Reporting and Global Tax Risk with offices in London, Glasgow, Frankfurt and Budapest. Glasgow members work closely with the other EMEA and NY offices, and wider Finance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare tax returns and tax return work papers for multiple legal entities across different businesses
• Perform reconciliations to support the Firm’s regulatory signoff tool at Account and company level detail
• Prepare Tax Notices to support the Tax return
• Collect data and prepare estimates and Tax extension calculations to support U.S. Tax for Federal and State and Local tax returns for the Firm’s legal entities
• Perform ad-hoc tasks to accurately file documentation for Tax returns
• Work closely with the NY Tax department
• Prepare tax accounting calculations and work papers in accordance with ASC 740
• Collect and analyse data, performing validation controls on internal systems data
• Learn and implement standard processes

Requirements:

• Educated to degree level, or equivalent preferably in finance or accountancy
• Knowledge of US GAAP/ US Tax Regulations is advantageous but not essential
• Ability to think critically and self-review
• Ability to prioritise workload and communicate to stakeholders
• Self-motivated, with a desire to succeed and develop professionally and personally
• Ability to multi-task in fast paced environment and be a team player.
• Confident working with colleagues in worldwide business locations
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and financial systems, in particular Excel
• Awareness of deadlines and ability to prioritize workload
