RESPONSIBILITY

• Lead the full cycle recruitment process: maintaining applicant flow, posting job openings internally and externally through various channels/platforms, pre-screening resumes, calling candidates, scheduling interviews, interviewing candidates, conducting reference checks, and administrative follow-up with candidates as required.
• Assist with the administration of the staffing process, which may include, preparing new hire packages, conducting new hire orientation and exit interview processes
• Support with payroll ensuring that employees receive compensation as per payment schedule
• Assist Health & Safety program development and updating the Code of Conduct policy
• Assist with orientation, scheduling and onboarding of new hires
• Ensure the job description matches retail fieldwork and update the description as required
• Work with Team Leads to address employee performance gaps and develop improvement plans
• Correspond effectively with team members to answer any inquiries regarding payroll, compensation, onboarding and other HR related subjects
• Maintain accurate record tracking of employee files, updates, funding, and more.

REQUIREMENTS

• Currently enrolled in an Ontario College or University program in Human Resources, Business, or a similar program
• General knowledge of HR practices, including completion of post-secondary HR coursework is beneficial
• Understanding of the high degree of confidentiality required in a human resource role
• Excellent people skills with the ability to work with cross-functional teams to gather information and solve problems
• Demonstrate empathy towards job applicants and employees in all communications
• Excellent communication skills; verbal, written, and listening with a focus on high-level customer service
• Passionate about the industry and looking to further their experience and skills in Human Resources Management
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work within a team environment and follow instructions provided to meet timelines.
• Able to complete job responsibilities without direct supervision
• Demonstrate strong work ethics: responsible and reliable
• Go beyond what is required to achieve goals
