SR PROJECT MANAGER:

On behalf of our Utilities client, Procom is searching for a Sr Project Manager for a 6-month role. This position is a hybrid position with 3 days onsite at our client’s Calgary or Edmonton office.

SR PROJECT MANAGER - JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Sr Project Manager will join the team to lead multiple Core Technology Lifecycle Management initiatives, primarily focusing on application upgrades of large complex systems within the environment. The role involves managing all aspects of IT projects to ensure successful delivery, reporting to the Delivery Assurance Manager.

SR PROJECT MANAGER - MANDATORY SKILLS:

  • 10+ years of project management experience on various technology projects
  • Proficient in MS Project and other standard project management tools and templates
  • Experience with both Waterfall and Agile project delivery methodologies
  • Ability to manage 3rd party vendors and their deliverables
  • Experience working with a Managed Service Provider
  • Strong facilitation and negotiation skills
  • Risk Management

SR PROJECT MANAGER – NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS:

  • BA skills
  • Good knowledge of modern technologies and industry standard software applications for utilities
  • Experience working with Utilities industry
  • Experience with MS Teams and O365 tools
  • Experience with developing and delivering executive level presentations
Responsibilities
  • Manage and track performance of Technology Lifecycle projects to ensure adherence to approved budget, schedule, and scope throughout the project lifecycle
  • Collaborate with Project Sponsor and key stakeholders to develop project charter and key objectives
  • Establish and maintain strong credibility with executives, steering committees, and frontline teams
  • Present project updates, risks, and milestones to executive stakeholders
  • Balance technical implementation with operational business processes
  • Adhere to governance frameworks and provide regular updates on progress, risks, and variance
  • Collaborate with technical teams, OCM, and business stakeholders to execute project deliverables effectively
  • Manage 3rd party vendor SOWs and work authorization, tracking progress against milestones
