The Information Governance Unit is looking for a dynamic, hard-working, individual to join our busy Information Governance Unit as an Information Governance Officer. Candidates must have excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills. Experience of minute taking and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is a must. The successful applicants will form part of a hardworking team and be expected to partake in weekly IG presentations and audits.

To support the Head of Information Governance and all Information Governance initiatives Trust wide. The post holder will act as a liaison point to provide advice and guidance as and when required, to raise awareness of Information Governance across all staff groups by contributing to the development and delivery of Information Governance training across the Trust and to ensure that the legal and ethical standards on the use of information within the organisation is met.
Develop and deliver Information Governance training for specific staff groups Trust-wide, ensuring that key information is disseminated and understood.
Develop detailed and precise Information Governance guidance documents to the specified standard for Trust-wide dissemination.
Develop and maintain the Trust’s Information Governance intranet site ensuring that all information is concise and up to date.
Act as a focal point for Information Governance related enquires and offer assistance to staff where required, maintaining a log of such queries.
Keep abreast of all best practice guidance, codes of conduct and legislation relevant to Information Governance issues.
Collect evidence for the appropriate sections of the Information Governance Toolkit and assist other requirement leads in their collection.
Assist in the development of service and governance related policies and procedures within the Information Governance Unit for departmental and Trust-wide usage

Assist in the implementation of Information Governance best practices and standards, within the department and Trust-wide.
Write reports and procedural documentation to the required standard making best use of Microsoft Office applications.
Provide effective and line management support for junior staff and their workloads, taking responsibility for staff performance.
Manage the Registration Authority service as required to ensure the correct use of smartcards.
Undertake compliance audits in accordance with national guidance.
Assist with investigations from incidents logged in DATIX and with the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Maintain and develop the Trust’s Information Asset Register with involvement from Information Asset Owners and Information Asset Administrators.
Identify and support Trust staff with the completion of the annual Information Governance mandatory training module.
Provide assistance with the completion and review of Information Sharing Agreements.
Provide assistance with the completion and review of Privacy Impact Assessments.
Support the Head of Information Governance with raising Information Governance awareness delivering the Information Governance Assurance Framework.
Support the Head of Information Governance with the implementation of Information Governance policies throughout the Trust.
Deputise for the Head of Information Governance as appropriate (eg. attend meetings).
Participate in team, professional and personal development activities and promote a commitment to continuous development and improvement.
Participate in appraisals and personal reviews and work to achieve agreed set objectives.
Participate in out of hours cover as required.
Undertake any other duties commensurate with this grade and nature of the post as allocated by the manager.
