You'll report to: Jo McGlynn, Portfolio Delivery Manager Team: Delivery Location: Hybrid – based in our London office (Monument), with an expectation to be in the office two days per week. Day Rate: Up to £900 Contract Type: 6-month contract, with the possibility of extension (Outside IR35) Start Date: As soon as possible Visa Sponsorship: Not available The Programme Manager Role As we continue our mission to be the market-leading underwriting software platform for agile insurers, we are excited to kick off the search for a Programme Manager. This pivotal contract role (initially 6 months) reflects the growth and complexity of our client base, requiring a strategic leader to oversee multiple customer delivery projects that collectively deliver significant business outcomes. The Programme Manager will play a critical role in driving value for our customers by managing business outcomes, governance, and delivery excellence. You’ll work closely with executive stakeholders-both internally and externally-to ensure your delivery portfolio remains aligned to customer goals, commercial priorities, and Send’s wider strategic objectives. In addition to operating at a strategic level, this is a hands-on delivery role. You’ll take an active role in day-to-day project management, ensuring the successful execution of initiatives by managing team workloads, removing delivery blockers, and maintaining momentum across all workstreams. You’ll balance long-term strategic planning with the practical realities of daily delivery to ensure outcomes are achieved efficiently and effectively. This role is ideal for someone with a proven track record of leading programmes or portfolio’s of work, managing multiple concurrent projects and teams, and influencing senior stakeholders in complex delivery environments. If you’re an experienced Delivery Manager, Consultant, or Programme Lead, we’d love to hear from you. About Send In 2017, Send was founded by Andy Moss, Ben Huckel, and Matt McGrillis with a vision to reshape and enhance the underwriting process for commercial insurers-combining advanced technology with deep industry expertise. By 2019, we had delivered a commercial and specialty Underwriting Workbench for a leading global insurer-one of the UK’s top five composite insurers and a major FTSE 100 carrier. This solution streamlined operations, improved efficiency, and enabled forward visibility. In 2022, we won three industry awards for the Underwriting Workbench and raised $10 million in Series A funding to support our expansion in the UK and US. The following year, in 2023, we launched Smart Submission, a stand-alone component of the Underwriting Workbench, and were named a Leader in the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide P&C Intelligent Underwriting Workbench Applications Vendor Assessment. In 2024, we were recognised as a Top Provider in the Datos P&C Workbench report and named a Leader in Celent’s Underwriting Workbench reports for both North America and Global Markets. Our vision is to be the market-leading underwriting software platform for agile carriers. #loveunderwriting Our Funding From 2017 to 2022, we bootstrapped our growth journey, building a profitable and stable company. In November 2022, following a year of strong customer and team growth, we secured $10 million in Series A funding to accelerate our expansion across the UK and US, as well as to further enhance our product development. We’re proud to have the support and expertise of our investors, Mercia and Breega. We are now preparing for our Series B round and are excited about the growth acceleration this will enable. The Send Team Over the past two years, Send has experienced significant growth, expanding our team by over 50% to more than 100 people. At the start of 2024, our team was primarily based in the UK. Since then, we’ve taken major steps toward building a global presence, with team members now located across the US, India and Ireland-all working collaboratively toward our vision of becoming the market-leading underwriting software platform for agile insurers. What You’ll Be Doing as a Programme Manager Programme Leadership: Define, lead, and manage a portfolio of delivery projects, ensuring alignment with client and business objectives. Maintain visibility of all workstreams, dependencies, and milestones to ensure smooth delivery across the programme. Strategic Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with senior client executives, delivery partners, and internal leadership teams to align on outcomes, priorities, and success measures. Governance & Reporting: Using established governance frameworks, track progress and performance across multiple projects. Provide executive-level reporting with insights on status, risks, financials, and overall impact. Cross-Functional Alignment: Work with Product, Engineering, and Delivery teams to ensure technical solutions and delivery roadmaps remain strategically aligned with client and organisational goals. Resource Planning & Optimisation: Collaborate with the Portfolio Delivery Manager to allocate resources across multiple projects, ensuring efficient utilisation and balanced workloads across teams. Risk & Dependency Management: Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks and interdependencies at programme level to prevent delivery bottlenecks. Financial Management: Own project budgets and forecasts, ensuring commercial targets are achieved and spend is optimised across workstreams. Continuous Improvement: Embed best practices, lessons learned, and process enhancements into the delivery framework to strengthen Send’s programme management capability. The Skills and Experience Needed for the Programme Manager Role Programme Management Expertise: Proven experience leading multi-project delivery programmes within SaaS, enterprise software, or technology consulting environments. Insurance Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of the London, European, and US specialty insurance markets, including their operational and regulatory complexities. Strategic Stakeholder Engagement: Excellent communication and relationship management skills with experience engaging senior executives, partners, and clients at C-suite level. Complex Delivery Leadership: Demonstrated success leading teams through complex, multi-stakeholder software implementations in dynamic, fast-paced settings. Risk & Governance Management: Expertise in developing and implementing governance structures, managing risk across projects, and ensuring programme control. Agile & Scaled Delivery Experience: Strong understanding of Agile and hybrid delivery methodologies, ideally within globally distributed teams. Financial & Commercial Acumen: Ability to manage programme budgets, forecasts, and commercial performance, ensuring delivery against financial targets. Mentorship & Team Development: Proven ability to lead, mentor, and grow high-performing delivery teams. Analytical & Strategic Thinking: Comfortable managing complexity, synthesising insights, and making data-driven decisions to guide programme success. Outcome-Focused Mindset: Passionate about driving tangible value and measurable outcomes for clients and the business. Programme Manager Interview Process Our recruitment process for the Programme Manager role is a minimum of four stages: Stage 1 - Intro call with our in-house recruiter, Liam (30 minutes) - This will cover your background, motivations and communication, along with a chance to get to know Send and the role better. Stage 2 - Interview with Jo McGlynn, Portfolio Delivery Manager (45 minutes) Stage 3 - Interview with Tash Bond, Chief Delivery Officer (30 minutes) 30-minute call with a Send Founder At Send, we’re focused on strengthening our culture-not hiring people who simply “fit” into it. We believe that a diverse, equitable, and inclusive team drives innovation, creativity, better decision-making, and stronger performance. If you’re interested in a role at Send but don’t meet every requirement listed, we still encourage you to apply. Research shows that women, Indigenous people, and individuals of colour often hesitate to apply for roles unless they meet every single qualification. We’re committed to changing that. We welcome applications from everyone, regardless of background, ethnicity, or culture. We are committed to reviewing all applications fairly and do not discriminate based on race, ethnicity, colour, religion or belief, national origin, sexual orientation, age, marital or civil partnership status, family status, pregnancy or maternity, disability (visible or invisible), gender identity or expression, or any other legally protected status. We know that inclusive hiring is an ongoing journey, and we’re always looking to improve. If you have feedback on our hiring or interview process, we’d love to hear it. If you have specific needs or adjustments that would support you during the application process, you can share them in the space provided in your application-we want to ensure your experience is as smooth and comfortable as possible. Need support with your application or have a question about the role? Email us at liam.longstaff-pagoni@send.technology.
