Description

Hybrid requirements: This role has flexible working patterns.
The Head of Engineering - Platform is responsible for providing strategic leadership, technical direction, and operational excellence to multiple teams of engineers. This role will shape the architecture, design, and development of a white-label platform, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
Technical Leadership:
Provide expert guidance and leadership in software design and development. Drive best practices, modern technologies, and coding standards. Build and maintain a world-class platform aligned with long-term strategic plans.
Leadership:
Lead, mentor, and inspire a cross-functional team, including software developers, testers, and DevOps specialists. Foster an innovative work environment. Identify and develop future leaders. Build a high-performing platform engineering leadership team.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
Work closely with Game Studio, Product Management, and other departments to ensure seamless integration of features, issue resolution, and effective communication. Collaborate with senior technology leaders to share learnings and experiences.
Strategic Planning:
Define the technical vision and roadmap for the Platform Engineering Division. Translate business objectives into actionable plans aligned with company goals.
Development and Delivery:
Oversee end-to-end development, from ideation and design to implementation and deployment. Ensure timely project delivery at high-quality standards.
Technical Excellence:
Champion continuous improvement, encouraging the team to enhance engineering practices, code quality, and automation.
Risk Management:
Identify technical risks and devise mitigation strategies. Monitor platform health and proactively address technical challenges and performance bottlenecks.
Budget Management:
Manage and own the department budget, including salaries, hosting costs, travel, and L&D. Plan ahead with the Director of Technology – Player Proposition.
Knowledge & Experience:
Experience leading a multi-disciplined delivery team. Experience delivering a web-based white-label gaming product to thousands of customers in multiple territories. Background in customer-facing and B2B technology businesses. Strong understanding of the iGaming sector and platform engineering. Experience with a broad range of front-end and back-end technologies.
Personal Qualities:
A team player with a servant leadership approach. Strong communicator able to update senior stakeholders. High degree of empathy and emotional intelligence. Excellent interpersonal skills to build strong relationships. Motivated with a can-do attitude and ability to use initiative. Detail-oriented with strong prioritization skills.
