Job Description AECOM is actively seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Engineer for a regular part-time position that can be based in one of our Greater Toronto Area offices. The candidate for this position will successfully deliver medium to very large size municipal drinking water and wastewater conveyance projects and related infrastructure including planning and feasibility to design and construction. The qualified candidate will have extensive knowledge, experience and successful track record in delivering water and wastewater conveyance infrastructure projects. They will be expected to advise teams on technical approach, provide technical guidance and mentorship to deliver quality designs compliant with local standards, implement safety by design programs and complete quality reviews. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Maintain technical knowledge of water and wastewater conveyance infrastructure in a municipal environment. Work successfully within a team environment and communicate effectively with other project team members and clients. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to build a strong relationship of trust and understanding. Work closely with the project manager and other discipline engineers as a key player in leading the design delivery. Complete designs within local standards, including making informed decisions on which standard to follow where there are conflicts and communicate and document the decision, engaging stakeholders as required. Complete, oversee and/or review the completion of technical reports, calculations, and undertake design decisions. Prepare and/or review technical specifications, tender documents, and review design drawings. Conduct technical quality reviews of deliverables. Liaison with the disciplines to coordinate design efforts, manage project schedules, and track budgets. Conduct periodic site visits during design and construction Provide continuity through the complete project, from design through construction. Provide guidance to technical staff. Qualifications Minimum Requirements : Bachelor's degree in civil engineering +12 years of related experience specifically as a Project Manager, Design Manager or Technical Lead in design and construction of municipal water and wastewater conveyance projects or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. Experience with trenchless installation methods for conveyance projects. Preferred Qualifications : Experience with trenchless installation methods for conveyance projects. Registered as a P.Eng. in the province of ON is an asset. Previous experience overseeing and coordinating all technical aspects of capital works projects over $300 Million CAD. Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams. Technical experience and/or project management on conveyance projects in the Greater Toronto Area. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills as well as effective report writing.
