Role description: The Climate Adaptation Specialist will join the Disaster and Climate Resilience Solution Team and will report to the Climate Adaptation Solutions Director for Canada. This role focuses on providing technical leadership and contributing to the development and implementation of Arcadis' climate adaptation and resilience strategies. The successful candidate will work closely with the Director to develop and execute the Canada Climate Adaptation Strategy and will work with the project teams and leadership to deliver innovative solutions aligned with emerging market trends, client needs, and regulatory drivers. They will actively collaborate across sectors and geographies to ensure the successful delivery of projects and the growth of Arcadis' climate adaptation portfolio. This position emphasizes project execution and team collaboration, requiring strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. The Specialist will also play a role in fostering knowledge-sharing within Arcadis. Technical Delivery and Project Support: On the technical delivery and project support side, you will lead and contribute your expertise to climate risk assessment, climate adaptation, and resilience planning projects, ensuring that the work delivered is of high quality and meets client expectations. Developing tailored solutions and deliverables is a key part of the job, and you will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to address complex challenges. Keeping abreast of advancements in technical methodologies, relevant standards, and industry best practices—and applying this knowledge to ongoing project work—is essential. Team Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing: Collaboration and knowledge sharing are also central to this position. You will work closely with internal teams, including technical specialists and project managers, to ensure the successful execution of projects.
