The Opportunity
We are on the lookout for an Environmental Engineer to join our team at Penrose Auckland and help drive best practice environmental management across our Ready-Mix and Quarry operations.

As our environmental Engineer you will work closely with sit managers and compliance teams to ensure we meet and exceed our environmental and consent obligations. This includes monitoring, reporting, auditing and supporting sustainability initiatives all while keeping up to date with environmental legalisation. The successful person will split their time between Auckland based and Waikato sites.
About you
You are a proactive and passionate environmental engineer who thrives in a dynamic, hands on environment. You bring strong communication and problem solving skills along with a solid understanding of environmental legislation and compliance practices. With a relevant tertiary qualification preferably in environmental science and a full class 1 driver licence, you’re ready to hit the ground running.
You are organised, detail orientated and confident managing multiple tasks and priorities. Most importantly you are someone who leads by example and is committed to driving environmental excellence across all levels of the business.

What we’re looking for

• High levels of planning, organising, problem solving and critical thinking.
• Technical knowledge of the concrete and aggregate industries
• Working knowledge of relevant Planning and Environmental legislation and standards
• Customer/client relationship management skills
• Full clean Class 1 drivers licence
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Being open minded and flexible to change
