A&M EDM is a highly successful engineering organisation based over two sites in Smethwick. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a skilled and experienced Toolroom engineer to join the team.
You will be responsible for the manufacture of new and repairing existing precision tools, jigs and fixtures used in the manufacturing process. You will work with a variety of materials and utilise both traditional and modern machining techniques to ensure the highest quality and precision of our tools.
Responsibilities
· Operate manual machines such as lathes, milling machines and grinders.
· Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to manufacture precision tools.
· Inspect finished tools to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
· Collaborate with other engineers and team members to troubleshoot issues and improve tool designs.
Requirements
· Proven experience as a toolmaker in a similar role.
· Proficient in operating manual machinery and equipment.
· Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
· Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
· Good communication and teamwork skills.
