Description:
HOW WILL I HELP?
The purpose of this role is to (i) support senior management across E&A with the maintenance of their executive accountability obligations relating to the Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SMCR) and (ii) provide governance and company secretarial support to Westpac’s Europe & America’s (“E&A”) institutional business. The role will also ensure successful oversight, planning and execution of regulatory change activities working with stakeholders to ensure compliance.
(II) GOVERNANCE/COMPANY SECRETARIAL
- Providing support by compiling committee/board packs, attending and minuting committee/board meetings and coordinating schedule/agenda and action items with senior management
- Maintaining and keeping current governance framework documentation (Management Responsibilities Map, Statements of Responsibilities for Senior Management Functions, and supporting Job Descriptions for Senior Managers)
- Co-ordinating with senior management to manage the flow of information and other communications to/from committee/boards, and maintaining appropriate records and internal reportingEmbedding and where necessary, enhancing best practice governance standards, within the overall framework of Westpac Group

(I) EXECUTIVE ACCOUNTABILITY
- Implementing the operating model designed to support the discharge of Senior Manager accountability obligations in E&A with a clear focus on efficiency and practicality
- Implementing and enhancing processes, tools, and templates to support governance and adherence to accountability requirements
- Co-ordinating and supporting the annual Fit and Proper re-attestation process
- Liaising with relevant Legal and Compliance teams to understand, communicate and respond to upcoming regulatory developments or change, and advising senior management about best practice regarding interpretation and application of SMCR requirements, ensuring understanding is up to dateSupporting E&A Senior Managers with obligations under other accountability regimes (e.g BEAR regime in Australia)
