Lakeland College is currently accepting applications for the position of Laboratory Technician within the School of Agriculture Sciences. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive support to both faculty and students participating in the Veterinary Technology (in-person and blended delivery) and Veterinary Medical Assistant programs.
Hands-on learning is a foundational aspect of a Lakeland College education. Our students learn real-world skills on our campus farm and in our accredited Animal Health Clinic.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Registered Veterinary Technologist in good standing with the ABVMA.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Exhibit the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
  • Showcase exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrate practical experience in working with small and large animals.
  • Display proficiency in computer skills and practice management software.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate laboratory sessions by assisting in their setup and subsequent cleanup.
  • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens used for teaching purposes.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the upkeep of laboratory facilities and equipment.
  • Collaborate closely with faculty and students, providing valuable support in a laboratory setting.
  • Maintain clinic logs and detailed animal records.
  • Provide high quality animal care to patients on campus.
