Calian is currently seeking an Aircraft Structures (ACS) Course Instructor to join our team at CFB Borden to work on a fulltime contract, 35 hours per week

QUALIFICATIONS

For Civilian-trained candidates, the following qualifications are required:

  • Graduation from an Aircraft Structures Technician program recognized by the Canadian Council for Aviation & Aerospace (CCAA) with at least three (3) years of experience as an Aircraft Structures Technician in an aircraft maintenance organization.

OR

  • Graduation from a program recognized by Transport Canada (TC) as an Approved Training Organization with three (3) years of experience as a registered Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (S rating) in an aircraft maintenance organization.

Responsibilities:

As the ACS Course Instructor, you will be responsible for:

  • Delivering instruction using approved techniques while maintaining safety and security standards for all personnel and materials.
  • Developing, updating, and maintaining Lesson Plans and Student Study Manuals in alignment with current Training Plans and approved directives.
  • Ensuring that classrooms, laboratories, and facilities are well-maintained and compliant with fire, security, and safety regulations. This may involve routine training aid maintenance.
  • Communicating issues that may affect student well-being to the Course Director.
  • Conducting thorough Performance Checks and reporting findings to improve training quality.
  • Identifying and addressing deficiencies in training aids and facilities, reporting these to the Course Director.
  • Documenting student progress in Student Record Books, facilitating course reports and counseling as needed.
  • Recommending revisions to Qualification Standards, Training Plans, and course outlines when necessary.
  • Maintaining a high standard of conduct and deportment among students.
  • Providing feedback for middle management decisions aimed at continuous improvement.
  • Assisting the Course Director in student counseling and exam supervision.
  • Successfully passing the Air Maintenance Policy (AMP) Level II exam within three (3) months of becoming an ACS Course Instructor under the Contract.
