Description:
THE OPPORTUNITY WE HAVE AVAILABLE
The Department’s Corporate Group provides a broad range of essential products and services, such as human resources, property, finance, IT, communications and legal services to support the daily operations of the Department, and enable the delivery of policy objectives and government commitments.
The Corporate Liaison Network within the Integrated Services and Engagement Section is responsible for streamlining Corporate Services engagement by embedding Office Managers in State and Territory office locations. We are seeking to fill the role of Office Manager in Brisbane. The successful applicant may be responsible for assisting additional offices within the region too.
Reporting to the Assistant Director, Integrated Services Engagement, the Office Manager will be responsible for coordinating office requirements, including:
- Being a point of contact for Corporate areas for office-based information and referral for practical support of services
- Assisting in the provision of office and building management services, ensuring access to buildings by visiting staff and contractors
- Supporting the development of office specific policies and procedures
- Supporting the SES (where applicable) with office specific matters
- Collaborating and problem solving with internal stakeholders to improve and refine the Network
- Contributing ideas and participating in Network forums
- Supporting culture and communication activities
- Managing desk arrangements and staff registers for your region
- Overseeing WHS, fire warden and first aid compliance;
- Staff induction and orientation
- Ad-hoc office duties and travel as required
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Employment with the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts is subject to conditions prescribed within the Public Service Act 1999 including:
- Citizenship: To be eligible for employment with the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts applicants must be an Australian citizen at the time of submitting your application.
- Health Assessment: The preferred applicant may be required to undergo a medical examination conducted by the department’s preferred medical provider.
- Security Clearance: The successful candidate must be able to obtain and/or maintain a security clearance at Baseline Level. You must be willing to disclose all relevant and required information. You must have lived in Australia, or have a checkable background, for at least the preceding five years for Baseline Vetting clearances.
