Description:

Mackay Regional Council is committed to serving our community with integrity, efficiency, and transparency. We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Asset Officer to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in ensuring the effective management and maintenance of our local government assets, contributing to the quality of services we provide to the community. This is a permanent full-time position on a 9 day fortnight based in the Mackay CBD.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Sound experience in the application of asset management and asset information management principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly intermediate Excel skills.
  • Competence in using databases for storing, analysing, and assessing asset management information.
  • Excellent time management skills, including prioritisation, resource scheduling, and organisation.

Candidates who also have the following will be highly regarded.

  • QLD “C” Class Driver’s Licence
  • Experience reading and interpreting infrastructure drawings and plans.
  • Relevant qualifications in Engineering, Information Technology, Asset Management, or a related field.
  • Alternatively, demonstrated experience in asset management may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.
  • Familiarity with computer-aided drafting/design software (e.g., AutoCAD) and Geographical Information System Mapping (GIS) software (e.g., ArcMap).

Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Interpret and assess asset handover information from various sources.
  • Obtain and record asset attribute data in the Asset Information System (AIMS) within established timeframes.
  • Build effective relationships with internal stakeholders to deliver projects and program outcomes.
  • Support the delivery of projects in accordance with the Project Plan.
  • Contribute to work practices and procedures related to the AIMS, fostering continuous improvement.
  • Provide asset information to the wider MRC organization.
  • Assist in the development of Asset Management plans, procedures, and corporate documents to ensure system efficiency.
  • Fulfill other responsibilities as directed by your immediate supervisor.
