Description:
The Licensing team are involved in a variety of activities that: - ensure the suitability of individuals and corporations who participate in the liquor and gaming industry;- identify trends and issues affecting the liquor and gaming industry and recommend appropriate strategies to address them; and- positively and proactively engage with both internal and external stakeholders.
Your key responsibilities : - Identifying operational trends and issues within the liquor and gaming industry that could impact upon Government, legislation, or be contrary to the public interest.- Leading an a licensing team to ensure applications are considered in accordance with the Liquor Act 1992, Wine Industry Act 1994, several gaming acts, guidelines and procedures issued by the Executive Director and Deputy Director General.- Reviewing and implementing operating procedures and guidelines for the processing of applications for new licences, permits and all other applications under the legislation administered by OLGR.- Developing and implementing a risk-based approach to operations, execute good governance and foster a culture of continuous improvement incorporating a high standard of client service.- Preparing submissions, reports and correspondence of a complex and substantial nature relating to strategic and operational matters.- Supervising the preparation of responses to appeals before the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal and ensure the department is competently represented at hearings.- Promoting an accountable, fair and safe work environment through the adoption of management practices, including workplace health and safety, workforce equity and diversity, anti-discrimination and performance management.
