As one of the oldest medical schools in the country, the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine (COM) has a reputation for training best-in-class health care professionals and developing cutting-edge procedures and research that improves the health and clinical care of patients. In partnership with the UC Health academic healthcare system and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, College of Medicine’s faculty are transforming the world of medicine every day.
The Department of Medical Education at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine is seeking applicants for a full-time (12-month), non-tenure track, basic sciences medical educator faculty position at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor. The primary responsibilities of the position are to serve as a course director for the Reproductive System course and participate in teaching throughout the medical curriculum in the applicant’s area of expertise (e.g., physiology, anatomy, microbiology, pharmacology). As part of this role, the selected individual will work closely with other course directors in ongoing curriculum development, integration of basic science and clinical content, and serve on various curriculum and educational program committees. Research interests should align with the primary responsibility of the position, which is medical education.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Ph.D, M.D., or D.O. degree.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS CONSIDERED
- Experience in course oversight or administration.
- Evidence of excellence in teaching at the baccalaureate or medical school level.
- A history of participation in medical education research.
Responsibilities:
- Serve course director for the Reproductive System course. This role entails working closely with the clinical co-director of the course to organize course content, oversee course activities, and create assessment materials.
- Participate in teaching the basic science content in all phases of the medical school curriculum.
- Collaborate with other faculty to develop course materials and strategize innovative teaching methods.
- Serve on various curriculum and educational program committees, as needed.
