JOB TITLE: ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER

JOB SUMMARY:

The Jr. Project Manager assists in managing and coordinating all activities of project management, including greenhouse expansion, and ensuring that a quality project is produced safely, on time, and within budget.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Management, or other equivalent construction/trade background preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience as a greenhouse Project Manager, preferred.
  • Problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Analytical thinker: able to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of the organization; Spanish speaking is an asset.
  • Commitment to high professional and ethical standards.
  • Must be an influential leader with a collaborative management style and ability to motivate others.
  • Must possess the drive and energy to fit into a fast-paced, high-growth culture with fluctuating priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly and meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities that allow projects and goals to be completed on time.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in permitting.
  • Meet with local officials to coordinate permit approvals and ensure all proper permits are secured prior to execution of construction.
  • Schedule job site project with completion date in mind
  • Create and maintain Gantt chart schedule for the entire project and adjust accordingly ensuring the project stays on schedule.
  • Coordinate and conduct weekly meetings with all contractors to keep the deadline completion date.
  • Schedule job site inspections in accordance with due date or follow-up with contractors if inspections are scheduled by the contractors.
  • Work directly with Third Party Contractor to be sure their skilled trades work with safety parameters ensuring quality and timely delivery of tasks.
  • Maintain latest design on file and ensure that everything is built based on company standards.
  • Work with Key Stakeholders to review contractor drawings and ensure greenhouse is built to company & contract specs.
  • In collaboration with the HRBP or H&S Coordinator, prepare the job site H&S plan.
  • Maintain all documentation for H&S requirements and ensure all contractors are abiding by all H&S standards.
  • Ensure a safe work environment and that company and statutory hygiene, housekeeping and safety policies and procedures are consistently complied with.
  • Monitor and document project progress to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery. Report project results to clients and management. Assist senior project manager with clerical tasks as requested.
  • Conduct regular, periodic meetings with the H&S committee.
  • Maintain latest design on file and ensure that everything is built based on company standards.
  • Assist with the review and approve payment of incoming invoices.
  • Assist with the review and maintain all project budgets.
  • Meet regularly with the Project Manager as well as other key stakeholders to ensure projects remain on budget and on schedule.
  • Other core expectations as defined by the company.
