Assistant Teaching Professor - Math and Stats and Post Bacc Data Science

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics invites applications for a limited term position for a term of one year at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor, starting on Sept 1, 2024.
The successful applicant will teach a variety of post-bacc in applied data science courses (e.eg., Simulations for Modelling, Optimization, and Analysis; Multivariate Statistics for Applied Data Science) and lower-level statistics/math courses and will participate in the activities of the Department.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Evidence of outstanding teaching of a variety of lower-level Statistics and/or Data Science courses. Demonstrated ability to relate well to students of various backgrounds.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Willingness and ability to develop new courses.
• Evidence of ability to work with colleagues in a cooperative manner and to take initiative where needed.
• A PhD degree in Statistics or Data Science is preferred, but other academic qualifications may be acceptable if a candidate has a strong Statistics/Data Science background and extensive related teaching experience.
