The Chief Corporate Services Office has a mission of ensuring that the highest standards of excellence are maintained in the delivery of group strategy, sustainability, public relations and enterprise security activities and initiatives.
The Strategy & Sustainability Team leads this drive for excellence, managing and overseeing the execution of the strategy delivery programme and the sustainability strategy delivery programme, aligning both and driving them as one going forward.

The main purpose of the role of the Sustainability Programme Manager is to co-ordinate and drive delivery of the Group Sustainability Strategy, supporting achievement of the Primary Goal of our Group Strategy to ‘Lead the all island electricity sector on sustainability and decarbonisation’.

  • Cuir i láthair agus páipéir a ullmhú don Phríomhfheidhmeannach agus don Chathaoirleach, chun tacú leo dul i dteagmháil leis an mBord agus le páirtithe leasmhara seachtracha.
  • Manage the development and execution of the Group’s multi-year Sustainability Strategy implementation plan and reporting processes driving it’s delivery across the Group and aligning with the overall Group business strategy and annual reporting.
  • Develop and manage the Sustainability related communications programme for internal and external stakeholders liaising with both internal and external communication teams.
  • Responsible for leading strategic change related projects and the ability to inspire and motivate staff, and maintain alignment with our strategy will be key to success in the role.
  • Supporting activities related to EirGrid’s external sustainability reporting requirements including the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive and our Carbon Footprint Assessment
  • Manage the development and preparation of a suite of performance reports and metrics for the Group’s executive leadership team.
  • Ensure strategic and business issues and proposed solutions are highlighted appropriately to the Head of Strategy & Sustainability.
  • Represent the Group at external forums and events.
  • Research and analyse new and emerging Sustainability trends and legislation and prepare presentations on considerations for EirGrid Group.
  • Prepare presentations and papers for the Chief Executive and the Chairperson, to support them in engaging with the Board and external stakeholders.

  • Knowledge of sustainability strategic planning and execution including Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) reporting.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build credibility and strong relationships with senior stakeholders and the ability to influence and engage in constructive challenge
  • A high degree of political sensitivity, astuteness and the ability to work across all levels of our organisation to achieve programme success and overcome potential obstacles.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, verbal and written; ability to take information and present it to senior stakeholders in a non-complex manner
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise under the pressure of deadlines, while working independently; knows when and how to escalate appropriately
  • Qualified to degree or masters level in a relevant discipline
  • Deep knowledge of the Group’s activities and understanding of the electricity sector is helpful, but not essential
