Location: Ashton, Preston
Wage: £6.40 per hour

- Receive and make telephone calls as required. Divert calls and take messages as appropriate. Ensure that all messages are taken in line with current practice policy.
- Ability to use appointment signposting system internally and locally ensuring efficiency and effectiveness of appointment utilisation
- Ensure that patients without appointments but who need “urgent consultation” are seen in a logical and non-disruptive manner.
- Respond to all queries and requests for assistance from patients and other visitors over the front desk.
- Managing the registration of new patients, ensuring accurate data entry, eligibility verification, and guiding patients through available services.
- Process requests for patient deductions from PCSE ensuring timely return of patient’s medical record and summaries.
- Co-ordinate screening recall lists, identifying non-responders and monitoring practice against national standard outlining areas for meeting target and participating in health promotion events as identified by the practice
- Keep surgery areas neat and tidy and ready for use
- Scan clinical and non-clinical correspondence in line with current scanning procedures
- Assist the Practice management Team in the ongoing development of recall systems for patients in line with the quality and outcome framework and the local quality contract.
- Deal with and ensure appropriate actions are undertaken with internal mail and external mail in a timely manner.
- Work in line with General Data Protection Regulations whilst exercising confidentiality at all times
- Undertake any other administrative and clerical duties commensurate with qualifications and experience

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
3 GCSE’s at grade 4 or above, including Maths and English
