About the role
As ATB’s next Business Solutions Specialist, Business Banking Sales, you bring an in-depth knowledge of commercial deposits, day-to-day banking, payment products, merchant services, cash management and short term investment solutions. You also have a strong understanding of general business operations and some of the challenges that business owners are faced with on a daily basis.
You will establish and nurture connections with valued partners, stakeholders, and advisors in retaining/attracting core banking relationships that incorporate payments and cash management solutions, merchant services, liquidity products, trade finance and the cross selling of Wealth Management, Everyday Financial Services (EFS) business clients and ATB’s Online FX platform.
As a trusted advisor and sales professional, you will manage the development and growth of relationships with treasury management intensive companies by partnering with Controllers, CEOs, CFOs, Treasurers and business owners, to understand their business requirements and presenting payments, cash management and investment solutions to meet their needs.
You will be accountable for the Business Solutions’ client relationship, leadership and strategically managing resources to generate income and deliver organizational objectives while partnering and supporting a portfolio of Relationship Managers in Central Alberta and Calgary.
Accountabilities
- Develop new and nurture existing client relationships to deliver consistent and sustained results of net income and deposit growth within a dedicated portfolio of accounts in relationship managed teams. Be a value added client partner, solution provider and trusted advisor.
- Establish and nurture connections with valued partners, stakeholders, and advisors in retaining/attracting core banking relationships that incorporate payments and cash management solutions, merchant services, and liquidity products.
- Manage the processes, infrastructure and resources needed to deliver agreed team plans and targets, identifying and implementing improvements and collaborating with colleagues to maximize end to end integration, effectiveness and efficiency.
Skills, experience & requirements
- 5+ years of financial institution or related sales experience (preferably with a specific focus on business clients)
- Undergraduate degree in business commerce, finance or equivalent
- Completion of CTP (Certified Treasury Professional) designation is an asset
- In-depth knowledge of treasury management, Payments Canada rules and investment vehicles
- Strong communication skills with demonstrated ability to build relationships with executive leaders (Controllers, CEOs, CFOs, Treasurers and business owners etc.) and ability to present effectively to boards and associations
- Ability to plan, design, develop and execute strategic financial solutions with experience in business-issue selling
- Proven ability to partner with clients to develop understanding of complex business issues and develop innovative solutions
- Strong connector of people and ideas – able to build relationships naturally, align interests of broad stakeholders and provide effective oversight to deliver flawless execution of complex financial solutions
- Ability to present complex issues effectively at all levels in the organization and effectively influence others
- Strong organizational skills to manage a high volume of requests
