Description:

THE OPPORTUNITY

EY’s Valuation, Modelling and Economics (VME) team is a fully integrated group of c.200 professionals providing valuation and financial modelling services to our clients. We work with many of the largest blue-chip corporates across a diverse range of industry sectors, providing insights and quality services to help build trust and confidence in capital markets and economies across the globe.
Value is not purely driven by financial performance. With stakeholders increasingly focussed on sustainability, the ability of a company to articulate their value proposition to consumers, employees, governments, and wider society is paramount.
We are seeking to recruit an Assistant Director to grow our strategic valuations capability, focussed on the Energy Transition and Sustainability. The work will centre around strategic valuation analysis but will also encompass more general valuation services for our clients.
You’ll be a part of an integrated VME team that combines the power of macro-economic forecasting and analytics with a deep understanding of value to help inform our client’s strategic decisions and quantify and support the value created within their business.

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES FOR SUCCESS

The successful candidate should be capable of working on multiple projects at the same time, as well as possessing strong business development and project/team management skills.

Your key responsibilities

  • Driving the growth of our strategic valuations offering
  • Building a network of contacts both internally and externally.
  • Day-to-management of projects across a variety of team sizes
  • Day-to-day client liaison and leader of client meetings.
  • Coordinating input from other EY specialists within VME and our wider Strategy and Transactions (SaT) team.
  • Delivering high calibre analyses.
  • Producing high quality presentations.
  • Pro-actively supporting business development initiatives.
  • An outstanding team player, but also with the resilience and motivation to operate individually.
  • Play an active part in the management of our wider team of Managers, Executives and Analysts including coaching, counselling and on-the-job training.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • Prior experience of strategy consulting, or strategy development and implementation either as an investor or in a corporate environment.
  • A technical background in valuations or a financial qualification such as CFA, ACA, ASA and/or a business university degree.
  • The capability to articulate a narrative around value and support it with robust analysis
  • Well-honed communications skills and the ability to collaborate well with people and teams
  • Very good interpersonal and team management skills.
  • Experience of business development activities for example proposal preparation, participation in pitches and building/nurturing client relationships.
  • Sector experience in Sustainability and or Energy Transition or willing to commit to these areas.
