The Standards and Metrology Laboratories Calibration Systems Technician will be responsible for design, fabrication and integration of software and prototype hardware devices to be used in the Bureau’s Standards and Metrology Laboratories. They will also support Lead Metrologists and Calibration Officers to maintain, fault find and repair Calibration Systems. The Calibration Systems Technician will have excellent communication and engagement skills suited to collaborating with engineers, metrologists, calibration officers and technical staff. They will have detailed knowledge and experience in electronics design and prototyping, embedded software development, and use of Computer Aided Design packages. They will participate in ensuring the quality and effectiveness of products and services and the ongoing development, implementation and continual improvement of the quality management system to achieve and maintain the ongoing certification of compliance with the ISO 9001 and ISO 17025 quality management Standards. The successful candidate will help grow the world-class standards and metrology quality assurance capability and be focused on customer delivery.
The Calibration Systems Technician will report directly to Manager, Standards and Metrology Laboratory EL2L.
