Description:
CENTRALIZED MONITORING- PROJECT BUDGET ANALYST
Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Centralized Monitoring- Project Budget Analyst. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the finances of assigned studies and financial aspects of the Centralized Monitoring portion of the assigned projects. You will be responsible to review contract and bidding assumptions, analyze budget to actual data, and work closely with the CM manager to update resource forecasts and address any outstanding concerns.
QUALIFICATIONS - EXTERNAL
- Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, mathematics, or equivalent experience. A background in life science or related field, along with relevant formal academic or vocational qualifications, is also acceptable. Additionally, candidates with previous experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job at a comparable level (2+ years) are encouraged to apply.
In some cases, an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Proven budgeting, forecasting and resource leadership skills
- Proven analytical skills and capable of handling data effectively and accurately
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Strong digital literacy (Microsoft Office, etc.) for analysis and presentation of data
- Basic understanding of project management principles as they relate to resource projections
- Capable of focusing on individual projects while covering similar aspects across multiple projects
- Capable of working independently with minimal direction
- Solid organizational skills with the ability to adapt and adjust to changing priorities

Responsibilities:
- Perform review of contract and bidding assumptions.
- Analyze budget to actual data on a monthly or other specified basis.
- Collaborate with CM manager to update resource forecasts and unit grids.
- Present and resolve pending issues with resource forecasts, unit grids, and contract modifications.
- Assist CM manager in identifying risks and defining reasons for unsupported hours.
- Attend financial strategy meetings as needed.
- Support preparing estimates for contract modifications.
- Assist CM leads and managers on various functional project activities to ensure timely delivery of highest quality functional deliverables.
