Location: Missenden Abbey Conference Centre, Great Missenden, Buckinghamshire
Reports To: Head Chef / Sous Chef

Position Overview: We are seeking a talented and motivated Chef de Partie to join our dynamic kitchen team at Missenden Abbey. The ideal candidate will have experience in a professional kitchen environment, a strong passion for food, and a commitment to delivering high-quality meals in a fast-paced setting. As Chef de Partie, you will work under the direction of the Head Chef and Sous Chef to oversee specific sections of the kitchen, ensuring the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes meet the highest standards.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or in a similar role within a high-quality kitchen environment.
- Strong culinary skills with a good understanding of modern cooking techniques and presentation standards.
- Passionate about food and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards (Level 2 Food Safety certification preferred).
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and guide junior staff.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work across different sections and in response to the needs of the event schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Food Preparation & Cooking: Take responsibility for the preparation and cooking of food in your designated section (e.g., pastry, meat, fish, vegetables, sauces), ensuring the quality, consistency, and presentation of dishes is always at the highest standard.
- Team Support & Supervision: Lead by example and mentor junior kitchen staff, ensuring they are properly trained and equipped to perform their duties.
- Health & Safety: Adhere to all food safety, hygiene, and health and safety standards in accordance with industry regulations and company policies.
- Stock Control: Assist with stock rotation, ordering, and maintaining stock levels for your section.
- Menu Development: Contribute to the development of new dishes and menus, offering innovative ideas that align with the overall culinary vision of Missenden Abbey.
- Time Management: Ensure that dishes are prepared and served efficiently and within the required time frames, particularly for large events and conferences.
- Cleanliness & Organization: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment, keeping your section and equipment in top condition.
- Communication: Liaise effectively with front-of-house staff and other kitchen team members to ensure smooth and efficient service, particularly during busy events and large functions.
