WHY ARE WE UNIQUE

  • The Township is a diverse rural community with a population just over 5,300 encompassing a large agricultural sector, a well established industrial sector, and smaller pockets of residential and commercial properties.
  • Located in the Spallumcheen Valley between Vernon and Enderby our community is over 26,000 hectares. Completely surrounding the City of Armstrong, Spallumcheen has no city centre but partners with Armstrong to provide many services for our residents such as fire protection, parks and rec, and cemetery.
  • A partner in the North Okanagan Wastewater Recovery Project which will provide much needed sewer services to the southeast sector.
  • The Township has large areas available for development potential, particularly in the South, as water and sewer services are expanded within the community.
  • The Township now manages 10 water Local Area Services and is embarking on many projects to improve and renew these systems.
  • The job provides a fun and stimulating environment as we work on our Community Development Plan, Strategic Priorities, and provide much needed services to our community through a refined approach to asset management.
    The Township of Spallumcheen is looking to fill a vital role within our corporation in 2024 and would like to invite interested candidates to submit their application for the Chief Financial Officer position. This role forms part of our dynamic management team. We are looking for a professional with strong leadership and local government finance experience particularly in a management role.
    The CFO reports to the Chief Administrative Officer and is responsible for the overall financial management of the corporation including the Township’s Annual budget, preparation of the financial statements and facilitating the annual audit process. This position will fulfill the statutory duties of the Chief Financial Officer in accordance with the BC Community Charter.

    A competitive salary range ($115,000 to $130,000 annually) and comprehensive benefits package are offered with the wage contingent on experience and years of service within a local government as well as knowledge of the province of BC legislation. CMA certification is preferred, however applicants working towards completion of the CMA program will be considered.
