Description:
JOB SUMMARY
The Foundry Clinical Lead organizes Foundry counselling services, supervises counsellors and interns, including clinical supervision and provides counselling services and Foundry information to clients and their families. This position is part of the Foundry leadership team and works with the Foundry Manager to ensure that Foundry services meet program and client needs.
Responsibilities:
Archway’s Clinical Lead with the Foundry Abbotsford Program contributes by:
- Supervising the Foundry Navigator and counselling staff; assigning duties, identifying any required training, and conducting yearly performance appraisals.
- Providing clinical supervision to counsellors and interns; providing consultation as needed for crisis or emotional support to counsellors and interns.
- Collaborating in decision making, handling disturbances/disputes, negotiating and allocating resources as appropriate.
- Engaging in professional development relating to supervision and community resources for staff and clients.
- Reviewing case notes and/or recordings of counselling sessions; reviewing assessments, interpretative summaries and services plans; ensuring appropriate documents are completed.
- Providing support to parents of youth who come to Foundry whose youth are eligible for services but may not be accessing Foundry Services. Support includes but is not limited to psychoeducation, crisis intervention, skill building, group work, 1-on-1 or over the phone.
- If required, offering walk-in counselling for youth and parents using SFBT (Solution-Focused Brief Therapy), EFFT (Emotion-Focused Family Therapy), and Motivational Interviewing modalities.
- Where required, co-facilitating parenting workshops or therapy groups.
- Planning and facilitating the Clinical Working Group.
- Engaging in clinical Foundry Central calls such as FCO (Foundry Central Office), Clinical Working Group or FCO SFBT calls.
- Arranging provincial training opportunities and providing training to counsellors and interns. Staying up to date on current modalities.
- Ensuring navigation, walk-in counselling and clinical supervision shifts are covered.
- Assisting in building and maintaining community partnerships and relationships, including with Indigenous communities. Participating in leadership initiatives and program development.
This position is a great fit for someone who has great leadership, supervision and facilitation skills; is knowledgeable of counselling techniques, can assess and mitigate risks and de-escalate crisis situations.
