Description:
The Clinical Nurse Practitioner works as part of the Multidisciplinary Team within the Outpatient Department. As a senior nurse, you will be responsible for completing a holistic patient assessment as part of the preparation prior to patients undergoing elective surgery and cardiology procedures. A passion for delivering excellent standards of nursing care is essential. The successful candidate will be reliable, flexible, enthusiastic and motivated to work within our different specialty areas.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES After a period of training with an experienced CNP, the successful candidate will perform a comprehensive clinical assessment of patients undergoing elective admission for cardiothoracic and cardiology procedures and will be accountable for the quality of care delivered in line with NMC and Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital trusts policies, ensuring the highest standards of care for patients during their pre op journey.

EDUCATIONAL AND DEVELOPMENT
Identify own learning needs with subsequent planning, implementation and evaluation of programmes/ strategies to meet identified need(s) Attend appropriate conferences, study days and courses to keep up to date with local, regional and national initiatives and objectives. Participate in the education of pre and post registered nurses and specifically contribute to the development of future CNPs. Provide expert teaching and support for staff undertaking specialist courses. Support and teach MSc students during their placement at Liverpool Heart and Chest hospital.
