Description:

Due to an increase in the demand for support and therapeutic interventions for looked after children and care leavers in the East Riding, we are excited to be able to offer an opportunity for a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to join our team. Our service provides therapeutic interventions to looked after children and care leavers, specialising in supporting individuals who have attachment difficulties and/or have experienced developmental trauma. Our work includes working with carers/parents, work with residential care teams and systemic work with families and multi-agency teams, always with a clear focus on improving outcomes for children looked after and care leavers (aged 16 to 25 years of age). If you feel you would enjoy working within in a multi-disciplinary team committed to providing both direct work and consultation to other professionals, you will be well suited to this role.
As such, you will join a small, committed and multidisciplinary LAC Service within East Riding CAMHS and this post will provide opportunities for professional development and personal growth. Successful applicants will also have access to regular supervision and support from experienced Clinical Psychologists working within the service.
We are looking for practitioners who perceive challenges as opportunities and can influence, inspire, and energise others, as well as work with people’s strengths to promote service improvement and service user experience.
To provide advanced assessments and evidenced based therapeutic interventions for young people who are looked after, and to care leavers including those living in residential children’s homes, supported lodgings and and foster care placements.
To provide comprehensive written reports to MDT following assessment and consultation.
To contribute to complex decision making around, for example, the commissioning of external therapeutic interventions.
To work autonomously and collaboratively within an MDT, providing consultation, wellbeing support and teaching.
To facilitate reflective practice sessions and contribute to systemic thinking.
To provide ad-hoc emotional/well-being support to local authority staff and carers/parents.
To formulate psychological treatment plans that are specific to each child/young person and family.
To facilitate multi-agency consultations and contribute to complex decision making around the child or young person’s emotional wellbeing.
To select and administer highly specialist psychological assessments including psychometric assessments and to interpret and effectively communicate this highly complex data.
To contribute to service evaluation/audit and development work.
There will be a requirement to provide a service between 8.00 am – 8.00 pm over a 6 day Monday – Saturday period, to meet the needs of service delivery.
