Description:

POSITION OVERVIEW

Calian is seeking a Clinical Specialist Instructor, in Nursing to help support the design, development and delivery of Canadian Forces Health Services Group Training and Education programs. Areas of expertise include: nursing, and bloodwork. This position is remote but would be required on site kin Ottawa when needed approximately 15 days during the length of the contract.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree OR post graduate diploma/certificate from a recognized Canadian University of College or from an equivalent in the following occupation: Nursing Officer
  • Must have completed a minimum of sixty training days within the last three years in instructing in military health services in the following occupations: Nursing Officer
  • Must hold a valid professional license in good standing with respective governing body for the following occupations : Nursing Officer
  • Must have one year experience within the last five years’ operating training simulators

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bilingualism an asset
  • Must hold or be able to obtain a Government of Canada Security Clearance

Responsibilities:

  • Develop Master Lesson Plans based on the Qualification Standards (QS) and Training Plan (TP) for Blood Program Training and Education qualifications in accordance with the Canadian Forces Individual Training and Education (CFITES) volume 5
  • Develop courseware (i.e., job aids, presentation, scenario, etc.) to facilitate instruction
  • Review training documentation (i.e., QS, TP, MLP, courseware) based on feedback from CF Blood Program Manager, Blood Program Coordinator and Training Development Officer
  • Develop documentation in accordance with CFITES processes in support of organizational workflow
  • Suggest documentation improvement through the chain of command and identify training material shortfall
  • Attend meetings as requested
  • Participate in QS and TP writing board or review board. Note this may be required to be performed in Ottawa
  • Instruct Clinical Specialty T&E Programs
  • Counsel and provide remedial Training and Education to students who are experiencing academic difficulties
  • Assess students
  • Advise on student performance
  • Maintain student files and feedback notes
  • Advise on the quality and efficiency of the instruction
