Description:
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
Based in Rivalta di Torino, as Commercial Counsel you will contribute to define and implement, with the guidance of the General Counsel, the commercial legal strategies for Avio Aero. Main responsibilities will include contract review and customer-facing negotiation as well as forefront legal support on project execution, dispute management, and sourcing.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
- Law degree from a highly respected university with superior academic record.
- Admitted to practice law in an EU Member State.
- Strong experience in general commercial and corporate law collected preferably in a reputable law firm.
- Availability to travel for up to ~25% of time.
- Fluency in English and Italian is essential. Ability to work in other languages is a strong asset.
- Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will manage issues within his/her area of expertise.
In fulfilling these responsibilities, you will:
- Support commercial transactions as needed, by structuring, drafting and negotiating domestic and international commercial and financing agreements.
- Provide proactive legal advice to the business on a variety of operational issues such as contract execution and interpretation.
- Share lessons learnt across the GE Aerospace legal community.
- Identify and provide advice on a variety of legal issues related to contracts and claim management.
- Monitor commercial legal policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
- Identify training and development needs and deliver training on legal and contractual matters for commercial and sourcing teams.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of relevant industry in order to contribute to the commercial objectives of the business and help to differentiate business from the competition.
- Develop and support negotiation with suppliers / customers
- Handle legal escalations due to service delivery/quality issues and invoicing/payable issues, etc.
- Support customer and business cost reduction and revenue increasing initiatives.
- Continuously focus on improving processes, reducing inefficiencies, driving discipline and accountability to enable business growth and reduce potential or actual risk(s) to the business.
