Job Description
Reporting to our CFO, Jellyfish is looking for a Commercial Finance Director to work with our Global Client Leads and Senior Leadership teams, supporting our biggest global clients.
You will be the commercial lead and contact for global clients, building profitable long-term client relationships ensuring Jellyfish meets all its contractual obligations to clients, and providing commercial and investment advice.
We ask that you have excellent communication skills and the ability to become a trusted partner to our Senior Leadership team.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in commercial Finance Director level roles in the media, advertising or marketing industries
• Fully-qualified (ACCA, CIMA or similar) with 10 years+ post qualified experience
• Excellent knowledge of accounting principles and their practical application
• You’ll bring skills in financial analysis, including review of financial statements and analysis of important metrics
• The ability to collaborate with all levels of the organisation
• Experience designing clear processes and helping facilitate impactful commercial change
• You’ll be detail orientated, delivering accurate and a high quality of work
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; demonstrated skill with Microsoft Excel performing complex data analysis including Pivot Tables and Macros.
• Experience working within a matrix environment supporting multiple partners
• You’ll add value beyond initial requests by anticipating future questions/follow-up requests and resolving them

New Business

• Lead on global pitch commercials
• Collection, consolidation, and review of compensation and other commercial elements for major global, regional pitch proposals
• Support our client management team ensuring new clients are onboarded following the agreed commercial terms
• Support our Growth and Legal teams with new client contract negotiation
• Prepare commercial proposals for new business and out-of-scope fee proposals
• Collaborate with our Capability Leads in pricing one-off projects
• Work with our VPs of Client Management to help improve margin and profitability at both client and department level
• Utilise client profitability to identify potential areas of improvement, supporting client growth plan process
• Review our commercial terms ensuring they are updated
• Support our Client Leads on the re-negotiation of contracts and terms of business which reflect the scope of work and ensure profitability
• Collaborate with Resource Management in understanding resource needs and ensuring new requests for hire have a justifiable business case for role review meetings
• Review the pipeline report which informs the forecast for potential client wins, increased/ decreased scopes, and clients at risk
• Support our leadership teams with budget management and investment decisions,
• Collaborate with Jellyfish’s legal and finance teams to ensure compliance with client contracts, obtain the relevant contractual opt-ins and ensure that clients are notified following contract via correct disclosure on the media plans / briefings
• Review contractual requirements quarterly to ensure compliance of contracts and opt-ins
