Description:
Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Community Images Intern for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Argentina or Costa Rica. Our client is an innovative San Francisco-based company that developed a software attack surface optimization platform to help organizations minimize cyber-attacks. The company’s platform reduces vulnerability and patch management backlog and prioritizes AI-powered risk management, enabling businesses to mitigate known and unknown vulnerabilities in workloads. This software attack surface optimization platform remediates 95% of software vulnerabilities in minutes without code changes. It reduces development costs and shortens release cycles while ensuring compliance with federal and industry regulations. The solution integrates seamlessly with existing workflows and technology stacks, making it a versatile option for various organizations. It is designed to work with open-source software, reducing the risks associated with software supply chains. The client is on a mission to automate vulnerability management. As part of this mission, they have developed an open-source project, a collection of popular open-source container images that are hardened automatically via the software attack surface management platform. You will join the Community Images Team, responsible for adding, maintaining, and growing the community images project while maintaining high-quality standards, efficiency, and consistency.
Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field with at least 6 semesters of completed coursework.
- Minimal experience with web services deployment to K8s cluster and managing it.
- 6+ months of experience with Python.
- 6+ months of experience building API servers in Python and calling these APIs via Python client and Postman.
- Knowledge of Helm Charts, Docker Compose.
- Knowledge of REST API.
- Understanding CI/CD frameworks, e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Passionate about working on an early-stage venture.
Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of individual open-source container images in the project’s community images.
- Debug and resolve issues related to the respective project.
- Participate in on-call rotation to ensure business continuity.
- Write detailed documentation of all the work completed to help with knowledge sharing.
- Attend daily scrums and work closely with Dev Teams to achieve desired product objectives.
Will be a plus:
- Experience with Bash.
