We believe it’s not only technology that powers transformation. It’s people who are at the core of change. That’s why it’s people that are at the heart of everything we do, excelling both independently and in team.
The world is how we shape it. Let’s shape it together.
Job Description
Our Compliance Officers serve as the first line of defence against financial crime, protecting clients and their customers from fraud, money laundering, and related threats. Partnering with one of Germany’s leading digital banks, you’ll engage in the fast-paced world of Anti-Financial Crime (AFC), where you’ll support Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance, counter-terrorism financing, KYC processes, and fraud prevention. Each day, you’ll analyse reports, handle calls from external parties, monitor account activities, and flag suspicious patterns, contributing significantly to financial crime prevention and regulatory compliance.
In this role, you’ll manage incoming reports, draft Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs), and coordinate with internal and external teams to ensure the swift handling of potential risks. You’ll be essential to the AFC strategy, from freezing and unfreezing accounts to enhancing transaction monitoring systems and collaborating on complex cases. Additionally, you’ll play a key role in managing customer account cancellations and processing payouts when required. Your proactive approach and keen eye for detail will help streamline processes and reduce risk, giving you the chance to build strong cross-functional relationships and further your expertise in financial compliance and risk management.

We’re seeking passionate colleagues who are eager to push the boundaries in digital transformation and technology consulting. At Sopra Steria, you’ll have the opportunity to grow your skills in a constructive, collaborative team environment, working on impactful projects that drive change for our clients. If you thrive on challenge and meet (most of) the qualifications below, we look forward to your application!
You have knowledge and experience of the following:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in law, business, finance, or a relevant field.
- Experience: At least one year in AML, KYC, compliance, or a similar field within banking.
- Language skills: Fluency in English and French & at least basic knowledge of Dutch.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
- Expertise: Familiarity with financial crime regulations, AML, terrorism financing, fraud, and KYC.
- Strong organizational skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving in fast-paced environments.
